Travels about Paris

Thinking about this trip in advance, I had in mind not so much the museums because I’ve been to the Louvre and the d’Orsay and the Marmottan. But I wanted to find my Paris, the place with the markets and the great cheeses and the neighborhoods. I wanted to explore Paris and find my favorite places.

What I found is that no matter how many new favorite places I could possibly find, there would be additional new favorites on the horizon. I found the market at the Rue Cler that I really enjoyed. Rick Steve’s writes about it and it’s all true. I went there more than once and there is a baker y and a fromagerie and the neighborhood is really nice. It is in the 7th which is away from some of the hustle and bustle that you would find in the Marais or closer to Ile de la Cite. There are no gypsies saying that they found a ring on the street and asking for euros in return for giving it to you. And no pickpockets as there are closer to Notre Dame and that area.

So it is comfortable, more residential apartments and Parisians out shopping for their daily baguette.

I found a good restaurant there too where I had a very nice salad for lunch. It was a quiet corner.
